循環腐蝕試驗箱可以模擬各種國際標準（如ASTM B117、ASTM G85、ISO9227、BS3900、DIN50.021等，具體參見下述的標準符合清單）以及汽車行業CCT標準，Ford，Honda，GM，VW，Toyota的自主標準和國標GB中的實驗條件對測試材料（例如涂料、鋼材等）進行抗腐蝕能力的測試。該測試箱通過對自然環境的模擬和強化，在短時間內可以測出被測材料暴露在相應自然環境中的抗腐蝕能力，從而為用戶篩選產品或配方提供數據和依據。
