如同文獻 Biotechniques.1994 Oct;17(4):788-92. 上所記載的，由 MiniSlot 與 Miniblotter所組成的棋盤格式測試平臺可讓研究者在同一張轉漬濾膜上同時進行多達 1,350 個獨立的雜交或抗原抗體反應；與 ELISA 及 Dot Blot 相比，棋盤格式測試平臺具有下列優點：(1). High throughput，可同時進行數百種以上的獨立反應﹔ (2). 所需的試劑量較少﹔ (3). 減少分注次數。

Checkboard 操作流程：
利用MiniSlot 和真空抽氣裝置將 DNA 或 Antigen固定在轉漬濾膜上，如此在濾膜上即會形成許多平行且等寬的DNA 或 Antigen線條。
將上述轉漬濾膜放置在 Miniblotter 中 (轉漬膜上的線條方向與 Miniblotter 的凹槽垂直)，接著在不同的凹槽內分別注入待測的 Probe 或 Antibody 進行培養反應，如此即可同時篩選多種 Probe 或 Antibody。
